Poetry Ramblings

I decided to post some of my old childish ramblings from the past. Starting at the age of 12 I loved to write poetry. Hopefully you will find it as refreshing as I have (going back through them recently! =) )

Is Your All Upon the Alter?

When you gave your life to Jesus,
Did you make His will your will?
Did you ever fully trust Him?
And you trust Him always still?

Was your all upon the alter?
Did you give him heart and soul?
If you didn’t then you should now,
You should give Him yourself whole.

You should never give Him just half,
Or a portion of your soul
Is your all upon the alter,
Please give Him you fully whole

Is your all upon the alter?
Is your all fully there?
Have you placed your full life under,
Jesus’ will and loving care?

Made Whole

Farewell my sins
 and my transgressions,
For I have Jesus as my might.

For God will lead me,
And He will see me,
Through the very rough parts of life.

I am finally made whole.
For You have cleansed my soul.
And made it pure blossoming white.

And when my life is done,
And I am finally home,
I’ll never grow weary of the sight.

It is Well

The cold turns into warmth,
The brown, into green,
The wind does not chill the bone,
It’s Spring, lovely Spring

The birds chirp happily,
Contentedly as well,
Among the beauty of it all,
I sing “It is Well”

Oh yes, “It is Well” I sing,
It is within my soul.
For Jesus died for me and you,
And made my soul now whole.

The Power of One

One little word can begin a fight,
One tiny ripple, a tide
One caring person can save a life,
One person, commit suicide.

One tiny spark can start a fire
One drop of rain put it out
One quiet voice can begin a revival,
One timid soul, begin to shout

One person, one thing, one tiny voice,
Can change the world today.
So Lord help me understand
The importance of one each day

Rose
Oh Rose your cute chubby cheeks,
Your blue eyes filled with love.
Your toddling steps so confident, yet weak,
Yes you’re a blessing from above.

Though We Never Know the Reason

You can see the question why,
Written plainly on their face
When a loved one dies a sudden
Or a child runs away

When a loved one dies in battle,
Or a baby’s miscarried
When a child has a seizure,
There’s the question: “how come me?”

But us Christians have assurance,
That Jesus loves us so,
And there always is a reason,
That we will someday know.

So let us trust in Jesus fully,
For He means it for our good,
Though we never know the reason,
The hard times are for our good.

The Prayer

The burden was lifted,
A glow on my face
Jesus had come in,
As I had prayed

I prayed oh my Lord Jesus,
I know that You died,
Upon a rugged cross,
For sinners like I

I prayed for forgiveness,
I prayed to be cleansed
And lastly of all
I prayed for God to come in.
